I am really excited to read and learn more about mythology and I particularly enjoy stories about demons and supernatural creatures. For example, I am very excited about weeks 10 and 11, when I plan to read about Inuit tales of supernatural beings. One thing I may be interested in doing for my storybook is comparing real legends of supernaturals beings to the ones portrayed on popular television shows, such as Supernatural.

 Hi! My name is Natalie. I am a senior at the University of Oklahoma, and I am graduating this semester! I bounced around majors quite a bit before finally finding the one that suits my interests and talents. I am majoring in Sociology with a focus in Criminology, and minoring in Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Analysis. I am originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma but am currently living and working in Norman. Week 4 Story: A retelling of the story of Arachne

Current version at  my portfolio name is Athena, goddess of wisdom and war. Once, long ago, I had heard rumors of a young mortal girl in the village of Maeonia who thought that she was the most skilled weaver to have ever lived. She went by the name Arachne, and -to be quite frank- was nothing all that special- the definition of a mere mortal. She did not come from a noble family, nor did she have much money. She was good at weaving, I will give her that, but definitely not good enough for her to claim that no one else could compete with her. As you likely already know, I myself am quite skilled in the art of weaving. I can depict beautiful scenes with the yarn in a fraction of the time that it would take most mortals. One day, I decided that I had had enough of her attitude. So I left my home on Olympus and went to pay Arachne a little visit. Port Aransas... My Favorite Place

One of my favorite places is Port Aransas, Texas. It is a small island on the Gulf Coast, right next to Corpus Christi. My family and I went to Port Aransas for vacation for the first time when I was about eight years old. Since then, we have returned four times. Port Aransas is a beautiful island town, with a lot of local color. It is not nearly as big of a tourist destination as Corpus Christi, which is part of the reason we love it so much. Every time that we visit, we stay at the Aransas Princess, which is a condominium where many people live during the off season, and rent out during the summer. My family loves to stay there because the staff is wonderful, and because it is like being in an apartment rather than a hotel. My family loves to cook, and staying at the Aransas Princess gives us a kitchen and the ability to have home-cooked family meals.
