Growth Mindset: Making a Motto

I chose to make my motto image on Canva. I chose to use the words 'stronger than you seem' as my motto. It is part of a Winnie the Pooh quote; "You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." I chose this quote because it means a lot to me, especially the part about being stronger than you seem. My parents have always said this quote to me and it has stuck with me.

 Hi! My name is Natalie. I am a senior at the University of Oklahoma, and I am graduating this semester! I bounced around majors quite a bit before finally finding the one that suits my interests and talents. I am majoring in Sociology with a focus in Criminology, and minoring in Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Analysis. I am originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma but am currently living and working in Norman. After graduation, I do not know exactly what career path I want to pursue, but ideally I would love one that has something to do with forensics of some sort. Week 4 Story: A retelling of the story of Arachne

Current version at  my portfolio name is Athena, goddess of wisdom and war. Once, long ago, I had heard rumors of a young mortal girl in the village of Maeonia who thought that she was the most skilled weaver to have ever lived. She went by the name Arachne, and -to be quite frank- was nothing all that special- the definition of a mere mortal. She did not come from a noble family, nor did she have much money. She was good at weaving, I will give her that, but definitely not good enough for her to claim that no one else could compete with her. As you likely already know, I myself am quite skilled in the art of weaving. I can depict beautiful scenes with the yarn in a fraction of the time that it would take most mortals. Port Aransas... My Favorite Place

One of my favorite places is Port Aransas, Texas. It is a small island on the Gulf Coast, right next to Corpus Christi. My family and I went to Port Aransas for vacation for the first time when I was about eight years old. Since then, we have returned four times. Port Aransas is a beautiful island town, with a lot of local color. It is not nearly as big of a tourist destination as Corpus Christi, which is part of the reason we love it so much. Every time that we visit, we stay at the Aransas Princess, which is a condominium where many people live during the off season, and rent out during the summer. My family loves to stay there because the staff is wonderful, and because it is like being in an apartment rather than a hotel. My family loves to cook, and staying at the Aransas Princess gives us a kitchen and the ability to have home-cooked family meals.
