Wikipedia Trail: From The Brothers Grimm to blank

I decided to start my wikipedia trail this week by searching for The Brothers Grimm. I chose this as my starting point because the last two weeks I have been reading stories from the Brother Grimm and I have been enjoying them a lot. I really enjoy that their original stories are much darker than the Disney versions that the majority of people are familiar with. This page led me to Hansel and Gretel. Hansel and Gretel is one of the many stories written by the Brothers Grimm. It is a story often seen as a warning to children when read in its original version. Hansel and Gretel left me a trail of breadcrumbs to Ariadne. These two pages are connected because many people have stated a similarity between the breadcrumbs in Hansel and Gretel and the thread that Ariadne gave to Theseus to conquer the Minotaur. Like the majority of myths that are passed down orally, there are many variations of Ariadne's story. This page led me to the Minotaur. The minotaur is a mythical creature that is half man and half bull. He lived in the center of a maze that was created by Daedalus and Icarus.

Week 4 Story: A retelling of the story of Arachne

Current version at  my portfolio name is Athena, goddess of wisdom and war. Once, long ago, I had heard rumors of a young mortal girl in the village of Maeonia who thought that she was the most skilled weaver to have ever lived. She went by the name Arachne, and -to be quite frank- was nothing all that special- the definition of a mere mortal. She did not come from a noble family, nor did she have much money. She was good at weaving, I will give her that, but definitely not good enough for her to claim that no one else could compete with her. As you likely already know, I myself am quite skilled in the art of weaving. I can depict beautiful scenes with the yarn in a fraction of the time that it would take most mortals. Port Aransas... My Favorite Place

One of my favorite places is Port Aransas, Texas. It is a small island on the Gulf Coast, right next to Corpus Christi. My family and I went to Port Aransas for vacation for the first time when I was about eight years old. Since then, we have returned four times. Port Aransas is a beautiful island town, with a lot of local color. It is not nearly as big of a tourist destination as Corpus Christi, which is part of the reason we love it so much. Every time that we visit, we stay at the Aransas Princess, which is a condominium where many people live during the off season, and rent out during the summer. My family loves to stay there because the staff is wonderful, and because it is like being in an apartment rather than a hotel. My family loves to cook, and staying at the Aransas Princess gives us a kitchen and the ability to have home-cooked family meals.
